Position
The project does not begin from “social media creates mental illness,” nor from “teenagers are pretending,” nor from “self-diagnosis is always inaccurate,” nor from “online communities are harmful,” nor from the opposite slogans. It maps what evidence exists for a specific pathway involving information, identity, reinforcement, and help-seeking.
Privacy
There is no symptom questionnaire, no “do I have X?” quiz, no account, no analytics product that profiles psychiatric characteristics. The site investigates a phenomenon. It does not diagnose visitors.
How it is made
Research lives in local TypeScript and MDX. Editing happens in Cursor, versioned in Git, and deployed to Cloudflare Pages as static files. There is no CMS, no database of users, and no Vercel-specific runtime.
